Traditional overpressure protection doesn't meet today's environmental or safety expectations.

Release to atmosphere or flare is often unacceptable, especially in urban areas, and situations exist in high-pressure or large flow pipelines that necessitate alternative strategies.

Designed as an instrumented safety system, a HIPPS system deals with overpressure safely, and without release of pipeline contents to atmosphere. Instead, the HIPPS system stops the inflow of excess fluids and contains them within the system itself.

HIPPS systems protect people and equipment and are especially useful in high-pressure pipelines or when high flow rates are being processed in the pipeline.
