Urea Applications

It is widely used in various fertilizers in order to enhance crop growth and increase production. Producing ammonia includes the following processes: feed preparation; reaction for reform, gas generation and shift conversion; purification; and separation.

Urea control valves are used in some of the most severe applications in a fertilizer production facility.

The urea synthesis process is extremely corrosive. When dealing with CO₂ compressor reactors, letdown valves, or stripper applications, valve design and material selection are critical. Additionally, urea is a product with very low dielectric that also creates a large amount of dust. These characteristics make reliable measurement difficult.
